“Ramos will be here for the rest of his life, everyone can relax,” said Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. “He is much more than a captain, he has been incredible as a leader. The team has unbelievable team spirit and that is all down to him.”
As noted by Perez, it does seem as if Real Madrid fans can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to the future of the controversial defender Sergio Ramos.
Real were finally able to reach the top of the mountain once again in La Liga, dethroning rivals Barcelona after three years away from the title. Ramos is a veteran at the club and has been through an awful lot, and as you can probably imagine, his contract status has been a source of great discussion.
Zinedine Zidane knows how important he is to what they’re building at the Santiago Bernabeu, and that won’t change anytime soon.
