Spain defender Sergio Ramos has heaped praise on Karim Benzema ahead of his country’s Euro 2012 quarter-final with France on Saturday.
The Real Madrid striker has so far failed to make an impact for France in Poland and Ukraine, despite producing two assists in the 2-0 win over Ukraine last week, but the defender believes the 24-year-old still poses a threat.
“Karim has become one of the best strikers in the world, one of those who make the difference,” Ramos told France Football.
“We know that it is a given (that he will play well).”
Ramos’ club and international team-mate Alvaro Arbeloa also echoed Ramos’ sentiments, adding: “We are fortunate to play with him. We are better placed than anyone to know what he (Benzema) is capable of.”
