Aaron Ramsey believes the depth and balance in Arsenal’s midfield has been a key factor behind the club’s resurgence since October.
The Gunners lost Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City and Barcelona respectively in August, while talented centre-midfielder Jack Wilshere has been out with an ankle injury since the off-season.
However, the north London side have recovered from a poor start to the campaign, with Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and Alex Song regularly featuring for the Gunners.
The 21-year-old Ramsey hailed the depth of the current squad, highlighting the roles of Tomas Rosicky and Yossi Benayoun.
Ramsey revealed he has been especially pleased with how his partnership with new signing Arteta has blossomed, praising the Spaniard’s style of play and experience.
“The relationship has definitely grown as the season’s gone on,” he added.
“I think that’s shown in the fact that we’ve each had a number of assists, and even though we can still learn a lot more from each other we definitely have a much better understanding of each others’ games now.”
“Mikel has definitely brought good experience to the midfield. We all knew what he was capable of before he came here.”
“He was one of the best players at Everton, has a great range of passing and is very intelligent.”
“In certain situations where you might need to see a game out he keeps the ball well and calms things down, and his stats prove that.”
