Rangers in talks over signing Daniel Johnson

Rangers are interested in signing Daniel Johnson, according to The Daily Record. It has been reported that the Gers have identified the Preston North End attacking midfielder as a potential replacement for Joe Aribo, who has suffered an injury.

The report has added that Preston are looking for at least £5 million as transfer fee for the attacking midfielder. It has been further claimed that Rangers and Preston have held initial talks over the transfer of the 27-year-old.

According to WhoScored, Johnson scored 12 goals and providing seven assists in the Championship last season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, he scored six goals and provided five assists in the league. The attacking midfielder scores goals and creates chances, and he would make Rangers a stronger team, with Steven Gerrard’s side aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
