Rangers are interested in signing Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. It has been reported that West Brom have told Johnstone that they will consider bids for him in the New Year, and Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers are interested in securing his services..
Allan McGregor is the first-choice goalkeeper at Rangers at the moment, but the Scotsman is 39 now. Rangers do have to think of eventually replacing him, and Johnstone does look like a decent prospect. However, it remains to be seen if the Gers would be able to pay the transfer fee that West Brom would want for the Englishman.
Johnstone is one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship and is also an England international. The 28-year-old goalkeeper is at the top of his game and would be a brilliant signing for Rangers, not just for now, but in the long run as well.
