Rangers have signed Lithuania striker Andrius Velicka from Norwegian side Viking Stavanger for one million pounds (1.2 million euros).
The 29-year-old is no stranger to the Scottish Premier League after spending 18 months with Hearts before moving to Viking in January.
That switch didn't work out and Rangers manager Walter Smith swooped to take him to Ibrox.
Velicka, who scored 25 times for Hearts, has flown to Rangers' training base in Holland, where Smith will assess his fitness.
“We will see how he is. He didn't play in the last couple of games for Viking but that might be that they were making sure he didn't suffer any knocks before coming to join us,” Smith said.
“We will let him get involved in training this week and then make a decision on whether we use him in the remaining matches here.”
