Rangers have made a bid of £3 million for Besiktas youngster Ridvan Yilmaz in the summer transfer window, according to Turkish publication Cumhurriyet. The former Scottish Premiership champions are looking to find a new defender following the departure of Calvin Bassey to Ajax, and they have identified the Turkey international left-back as a potential replacement.
Yilmaz has been on the books of Besiktas since 2009 and has established himself in the Turkish giants’ first team. The 21-year-old left-back made 23 starts and four substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig last season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in the process.
Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership table last season and will be determined to reclaim the title from bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic in 2022-23. As for Besiktas, they will be keen on winning the Turkish Super Lig title next season.
