Rangers plan to sell James Tavernier

Rangers are ready to offload James Tavernier at the end of the season, according to Football Insider. Tavernier is out of contract at Rangers in 2026, and the Gers are now planning to sell him in the summer of 2025 due to his underwhelming performances.

Tavenier has been on the books of Rangers since 2015 and has been superb over the years. The 33-year-old has been one of the best right-backs in Scotland and has been one of the first names on the Rangers teamsheet, The former Newcastle United right-back helped Rangers win the Scottish Premiership title in 2020-21, the Scottish Cup in 2021-22 and the Scottish League Cup in 2023-24.

The right-back has made 10 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season. Tavernier has given three assists in those games. The right-back has also made three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League and has scored one goal in three Carabao Cup games so far this campaign.
