Rangers manager Walter Smith is hoping to find the right balance in his side as they take on PSV in the second leg of their Europa League clash.
The first leg finished goalless in Holland and the Scottish outfit will need to go for the win if they happen to concede a goal at Ibrox on Thursday.
Although Smith is looking to field a more attacking team in the second leg, he still wants to use the familiar 5-4-1 formation.
“Even though we’ve kept a similar formation, I think we’ve approached the home games in a slightly different fashion to the away games,” Smith said.
“When you see our home games in the Champions League and the game against Sporting Lisbon, we had more attacking personnel within the same setup.”
“Therefore we just have to find the right balance for tomorrow’s game. That’s the important thing for us.”
With a greater number of attacking options at his disposal, Smith sees an opportunity to create a better unit going forward.
“From our own point of view, we’ve got one or two of them (attacking players) back available to us at the present moment so we’re able to field more attack layers, even if the formation is still the same.”
