Inter coach Claudio Ranieri said Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho deserves credit for what he achieved in his time with the Italian club.
It seems Ranieri has called a truce on the previous war of words between both men.
In 2009, Mourinho launched a scathing attack on then Roma coach Ranieri while the Portuguese tactician was at Inter.
Mourinho said he had replaced Ranieri at Chelsea in 2004 so they could win titles, while accusing the Italian of intellectual prostitution and mind games.
Mourinho went on to win the treble in 2010 with Inter Milan, before leaving for Madrid, and Ranieri feels he deserves a monument built alongside former legendary Inter boss Helenio Herrera.
“I do not live with envy,” Ranieri told La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked of Mourinho’s achievements.
“I think that Mourinho complimented us after we beat CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.”
“He and Herrera deserve two statues at Appiano Gentile (for what they achieved at the club).”
