Ranieri hints at Balotelli move
Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed that he could make a move for Mario Balotelli in the future.
The Manchester City forward is eager to return to Italy in the near future and Inter coach Claudio Ranieri admits he would like to see the controversial forward at Giuseppe Meazza.
“I’d welcome Balotelli with open arms,” Ranieri told Il Corriere dello Sport. “He’s a stupendous talent.
“Balotelli could become one of the greatest players in the world, but it is all down to him. He has to decide how convenient it would be for himself to be a rebel.”
Ranieri believes that his players would have no problems playing alongside Balotelli.
“The rest of the squad’s reaction to Balotelli? I haven’t spoken to the players in the changing room to see if there would be any aversion to him being here again.”
The coach also hinted that Inter could be on the look out for new midfielders in January.
“If there is a need for Moratti to open his wallet then he will. We have a lot of players in attack. Perhaps we are missing something in the middle of the park…”
Manchester City readying bid for Thiago Silva
Manchester City have joined the race for Milan defender Thiago Silva, Daily Mail reports.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Serie A and he has already attracted interest from Barcelona.
The Catalans had a big money move for the Brazilian rejected in the summer, but they remain keen on the player.
According to Daily Mail, Manchester City are ready to join the race for the highly rated stopper.
The Citizens are already pondering a summer bid for Silva, with their spending power likely to help them win the race against other interested clubs.
Milan are keen to hold on to their prized asset, but they may be powerless to resist a big money offer from Manchester City.
Real Madrid have also shown interest in the experienced defender, but they have yet to step up their interest.
Argentine playmaker reveals Palermo move a done deal
Belgrano midfielder Franco Vazquez has revealed that he is set to join Palermo in January.
The Serie A side were hoping to complete the signing in the summer, but they failed to agree on the transfer fee with Belgrano.
However, it appears that the two clubs have finally reached an agreement, as confirmed by the player himself.
“I will not stay at Belgrano, there is absolutely no chance of that happening,” Vazquez told newspaper Olè.
“These are my final five games for the club. After Christmas I will fly to Italy and already be at Palermo’s disposal from January 3.
“It is an important step for my career and I hope to do well with the Rosanero jersey.”
Palermo are believed to have agreed a €4.5 million for the player who also holds an Italian passport.
The 22-year-old has been a key player for Belgrano since making a debut in 2007 and he will arrive to Renzo Barbera as a replacement for Javier Pastore.
