According to a recent report from Sky Italia, Claudio Ranieri is indeed on the shortlist of potential successors for Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco. Officials are set to meet today in order to discuss his future, in the wake of their elimination from the Champions League by Portuguese giants Porto last night. Ranieri joins the likes of Laurent Blanc and Paulo Sousa who are both said to be on the club’s radar, as they attempt to salvage what has so far been a pretty disappointing season.
Ranieri formerly managed Roma, who play in the city where he was born, for two years – although his most notable work as of late took place in English football.
Sousa, on the other hand, is also being linked with the vacant managerial position at Bordeaux, which could throw a spanner into the works.
Either way, though, it would appear as if Roma aren’t going to be short of options.
