Claudio Ranieri belives Inter Milan’s 1-0 Champions League win over Lille will kick-start his side’s stuttering season.
A Giampaolo Pazzini strike was the difference between the teams in what was a tense clash in France on Tuesday.
The result takes the Italians to top of Group B with six points, and Ranieri feels it was a much-needed win following another poor showing at the weekend when they lost 2-1 to Catania in Serie A.
“It was very important to win against Lille,” the former Roma boss told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“The players are working very hard, but there has been a dark period for us recently.”
“However, the players want to turn the page and this win gives us plenty of morale and confidence.”
“We must continue like this. It was not a great game, but for the way we have been playing it was decent.”
Inter’s next match in the Champions League is against Lille on November 2 at San Siro.
