Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri will remain at the San Siro until the end of the season, president Massimo Moratti said on Monday.
Ranieri, 60, took charge of Inter in September last year and inspired a dramatic upturn in the club’s fortunes following a disastrous start to the season under previous boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
However, after propelling themselves into Serie A title contention with a seven-game winning streak, Inter have endured a dreadful dip in form which has seen them win just two of their past 13 matches in all competitions.
A 2-0 loss to Juventus on Sunday heaped further pressure on Ranieri.
When asked about his coach’s future by reporters on Monday, Moratti would only say: “I think Ranieri will remain until the end of the season.”
Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Chelsea earlier this month, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola and Pescara boss Zdenek Zeman have all been linked with the Inter job in recent months.
