(GSM) – Roma boss Claudio Ranieri has said that he is “bored” by his Internazionale counterpart, Jose Mourinho.
The two former Chelsea bosses are involved in a long-running feud as both their sides go into Serie A’s final day on Sunday vying for the title.
Mourinho recently claimed that Ranieri, his Chelsea predecessor, was considered a “loser” at Stamford Bridge and even mocked his preparations for the Coppa Italia final.
But Ranieri, who went on to coach Juventus after Chelsea, has insisted that he has little interest in his constant jibes.
“Do I feel like the Normal One? No, I am Claudio Ranieri, a fortunate man because I do the job I love,” he said on Football Italia.
“I think Mourinho has so much to say about football, but evidently he must really care about me, as otherwise he wouldn’t mention my name so much. To be honest, he just bores me now.
“I don’t know why he always attacks me. He needs to build something to take energy from. I could say many things about him, but I have no interest in doing so. I like positive people who single out the positive aspects in football.”
Roma need to beat Chievo on Sunday and rely on Inter dropping points at Siena but, although that means a title triumph is unlikely, Ranieri is delighted with his team.
“If people had told us back in September that we’d be here, we wouldn’t have believed them,” he said. “This is motivation in itself, let alone the 20,000 people cheering us on. I love this job because of the emotions it gives me and adore football with all my heart.
“We had promised our fans a dream – to fight until the end – and we’re still here. Of course we are tired, but there is still a lot of nervous energy within us and we want to make our supporters happy. Then, whatever will be will be.”
