The long-drawn uncertainty surrounding the future of Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia is expected to end soon as the 26-year-old is widely tipped to sign a new deal at Stadio Giuspppe Meazza.
The Italy international has been heavily linked with a summer exit despite playing regular first team football, with Juventus reportedly the favourites for his signature.
But, the Nerazzurri officials appear perfectly satisfied with his contribution and are convinced they will tie him down to a new long-term deal.
According to Tuttosport, Ranocchia is set to agree a new contract until June 2018, similar to the one that expires in a year’s timethat sees him earn €2.2 million per campaign.
What is more, the experienced stopper is set to be named a new captain after Javier Zanetti ended his professional career.
And with Nemanja Vidic joining from Manchester United, the Nerazzurri will not have to worry about the heart of defence for the foreseeable future.
