Former Dutch international star Raphael van der Vaart is being linked with an exotic move to the Indonesian side Bali United, according to local reports.

Indonesian media outlet Bolasport has reported that former Real Madrid and Tottenham man is all set to cut his stay with Danish side Midtjylland short and pack his bags for Indonesia this winter.

Seen as football world’s latest fashionable retirement home, Indonesia is becoming an increasingly popular destination where the likes of Michael Essien, Carlton Cole, Didier Zokora, Mohamed Sissoko all decided to wind down their careers at in recent times.

And now the former Ajax, Hamburg, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Real Betis is just the last in line to be linked with a move over there.

The inaugural winner of the Golden Boy award in 2003 is a far cry from being a player he once was but would nevertheless be considered a major coup for the Indonesian football.
