ESPN is reporting that former Real Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez Blanco has agreed to join New York Cosmos.
With the veteran striker leaving Al Sadd a while back, he is currently a free agent and his representatives have been in talks with the NASL side.
New York Cosmos have plans to become a part of the MLS in the near future and they seem to have convinced Raul to join their ranks for the 2015 spring season.
Raul Gonzalez is one of world’s most decorated football players and he is widely regarded as one of the best footballers in Real Madrid’s history, despite the fact that he played for arch rivals Atletico as a youngster.
The 37-year-old made a total of 550 league outings for los Blancos, scoring 228 goals, while he managed 44 goals in 102 Spain caps.
Raul seems to have no plans to end his playing career just yet and is set to embark on a new challenge.
