Former Real Madrid striker Raul Gonzalez Blanco looks set to move to the United States, Spanish daily AS can reveal.
The 38-year-old has ended his contract with Al Sadd few days ago, but he has no plans to finish his playing career at the moment.
According to AS, New York Cosmos have launched a second assault on the veteran forward and they are widely expected to convince Raul to join their ranks.
The NASL side are currently in talks with the player’s representatives, with the striker himself currently on vacation in New York.
New York Cosmos already have one high-profile player in their ranks, with former Villarreal and Spain star Marcos Senna having joined last summer.
Raul Gonzalez has spent last two years with Al Sadd, scoring 11 goals in 39 league outings, and he remains one of Spain’s most successful players ever, having won six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.
