Spanish striker Raul admits that he wants to continue his career at Schalke as he looks to sign a contract extension at Veltins Arena.
The former Real Madrid forward has just over six months left on his contract with Schalke, but it now looks as though he will stay on for at least another more year.
“I want to continue playing here, but we’ll see about it next month,” Raul told Sky Bundesliga.
“The talks are scheduled for January.”
Raul scored a hat-trick in Schalke’s 5:0 victory over Werder Bremen at the weekend, taking his goal tally in Bundesliga to 10.
Despite being in the late stage of his career, the 34-year-old is considered a key member of Huub Stevens’ side and is likely to be offered a new deal.
