Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that Cagliari have been showing interest in former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles.
The Serie A side hope to further reinforce their ranks in the free agent market and they are now considering a move for the Portuguese footballer.
Cagliari officials have established initial contact with Meireles and his agents, and further meetings are expected in the coming days.
The 34-year-old has been without a club for over a year now as his deal with Fenerbahce expired in June 2016.
Meireles had previously represented FC Porto, Liverpool and Chelsea, scoring 7 goals in 66 Premier League appearances.
