Securing back-to-back wins and flying high at the start of the new season, RB Leipzig will make the trip to Borussia-Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while many around Borussia-Park were upset to see Mönchengladbach only scrape a 0-0 stalemate against Schalke on the opening weekend, Marco Rose’s men did bounce back on the road earlier in the week. Putting three past Mainz and desperate to make a European charge this season, Friday’s hosts will know that they must improve on their continued issues on home soil if they’re to better their fifth-place finish last year. Including their lackluster 0-0 draw against Schalke a fortnight ago, Mönchengladbach have remarkably failed to win any of their last nine top-flight matches at Borussia-Park, a run that stems all the way back to the 26th of January.

As for the visitors, picking up a 2-1 win over fellow European hopefuls Eintracht Frankfurt last time out, it has been an eye-catching Bundesliga start for RB Leipzig. Now winning their opening two contests, including a 4-0 hammering against a returning Union Berlin on the opening weekend, one man to watch on Friday will be last year’s leading marksman, Timo Werner. Signing a new long term deal earlier in the week, the German international has scored in back-to-back matches so far. Also picking up a 2-1 win when they last made the trip to Mönchengladbach, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday night.
