RB Leipzig 2/1 to beat Bayer Leverkusen in Saturday’s Bundesliga game

Competition: Bundesliga

Market: RB Leipzig to beat Bayer Leverkusen

Odds: 2/1 @ Bet365

Germany’s top league returns for another weekend of high-octane action, with every side wanting to get back to club football with a win. While the break only saw Germany playing in friendlies, as they had already qualified for the World Cup, the return of the league will see some huge games at the top and the bottom of the league, with every point so crucial now. With this in mind, RB Leipzig travel to face Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Bayer Leverkusen have been enjoying a fairly good season so far. After 11 games, they have won four times, drawn four games and lost three times, meaning they have been able to collect 16 points, giving them a healthy gap between themselves and the relegation zone. 23 goals scored is an impressive return, but they are being hamstrung by the fact they have conceded 16 goals already this season, with their fine scoring record blighted by their leaky defence. If they have serious aspirations of challenging for a European place then they must supplement their offence with a far more solid backline.

RB Leipzig have been able to continue their form from last year as they are the nearest competitors to Bayern Munich at the top. Leipzig have won seven games this season, drawing once and losing three times, meaning they have accumulated 22 points, four less than the leaders. 18 goals scored is a decent record, but the fact they have conceded 13 times is not particularly impressive. Despite this, we are backing Leipzig to win with odds of 2/1 from Bet365, to keep the pressure up on Bayern.
