With the chance to extend their buffer at the top of the Bundesliga to seven points, RB Leipzig will make the trip to the Commerzbank-Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Eintracht Frankfurt may have managed to shock many and snatch a 2-1 win away at Hoffenheim after returning from the festive break, it does not cover what has been a worrying campaign for last year’s surprise package. Still sat outside the top half after battling it out in the top-four for large spells of last season, fans around the Commerzbank-Arena have seen their side lose six of their last eight Bundesliga appearances. Even more worrying for under-pressure boss Adi Hütter, his side have continued to show some rather glaring issues on home soil. Frankfurt have lost their last three straight matchups in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, picking up a 3-1 win over Union Berlin last weekend, the mood in RB Leipzig’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Opening Saturday’s fixtures with a four-point buffer at the top of the Bundesliga, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have continued to shine this season and are enjoying an unbeaten run that stems back to the 26th of October. With a Champions League knockout tie on the horizon, one man to keep an eye out for this weekend will be attacking talisman, Timo Werner. Linked with a move to some of Europe’s top teams, the 23-year-old has now bagged nine goals in his last seven matches across all competitions. Picking up a 2-1 win over Frankfurt when they faced off earlier in the season, we’re backing a similar outcome this weekend.
