Competition: Champions League
Market: RB Leipzig to score over 1.5 goals
Odds: 8/13 @ Bet 365
With their sights set on securing a route out of Group G, RB Leipzig will welcome Lyon to the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while RB Leipzig may have seen Schalke abruptly end their unbeaten start to the season last weekend, the mood in their camp remains at a high. With many around the Red Bull Arena believing that their side can mount a shock title charge this year, the German outfit picked up a 2-1 win over Benfica in their Group C opener and are a huge favorite to secure a route to the knockout stage. One man who will lead their charge in midweek will be Germany international, Timo Werner. Bagging both goals against Benfica a fortnight ago, RB’s leading marksman has already scored seven goals this season.
As for the visitors, slumping to another lackluster display and suffering a 1-0 loss at home against Nantes over the weekend, Lyon have continued on a woeful start to the new campaign. With new boss Sylvinho watching his side record just two victories across all formats this season, the former European giants could only muster a point in their Group C opener against Zenit a fortnight ago. Failing to win any of their last seven outings, a run that stems back to the 16th of August, Wednesday’s trip to Germany could be another massive struggle for a stalling Lyon outfit.
