RB Leipzig closing in on Palmerias’ teenager

RB Leipzig continue finding interesting youth prospects all around the world. After great scouting has given them the players like Naby Keita or Amadou Haidara, now they could be on the verge of signing a Brazilian teenager. According to Bild, Leipzig are set to sign Luan Candido from Palmeiras. The fee is expected to be €8m (which is around £6.8m).

Candido is 18 years old and is Brazil’s U20 international. He is due to undergo a medical next week before the deal is finalized. He plays at left-back, but has been used in other more offensive positions on the same flank too. Palmeiras are believed to be getting another €2m after Candido plays five games for Leipzig’s senior team and also the 15 per cent sell on fee clause, once (if) the player moves to another club.

Candido was born in 2001, but has never played a match for Palmeiras at senior level.
