According to Kevin Palmer, a journalist working for the Irish Independent, The Herald and Sunday World, Erling Haaland has decided to remain under the roof of the Red Bull franchise, and move from Salzburg to Leipzig.
Haaland went to Germany last week, where he visited and discussed a potential move with both Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund. His former boss at Molde, now Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer afterwards contacted the 19-year-old sensation and tried to convince him to consider moving to Old Trafford instead.
However, it seems Solskjaer’s efforts have been in vain due to game-time concerns, and Haaland, who has so far scored 28 goals in 22 games in all competitions for Salzburg, is set to go to Germany. That, on the other hand, means that the departure of Timo Werner from Leipzig now seems imminent. The German international has been linked with a number of top clubs over the last 18 months or so, most heavily Bayern Munich but also Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
