“We would like to get a transfer fee. There are numerous interested parties and top clubs have enquired”.
Those are the words of RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, who has made it clear that they are expecting Timo Werner to be sold during the summer transfer window. The German forward is not expected to sign any kind of contract extension, as he looks ahead to the next stage of his career.
The youngster has been heavily linked with a move away from Leipzig for longer than most of us can remember, and now, it seems as if he’s finally ready to take that next step forward. It’s no secret that he wants to take his career to that next level, and it just doesn’t feel like that’s going to be feasible for him right now.
Bayern Munich would seem like the logical next step given their recent interest in him, but the latest reports suggested that Bayern would prefer to wait until next season to sign Timo.
