RB Salzburg break club record for Wober

Monchi has returned to Sevilla after two years at AS Roma and he is having a really intriguing transfer window as their sporting director. Sevilla have brought in more than ten players this summer, but have now offloaded one of them. Max Wober left Sevilla to join Red Bull Salzburg. The Austrian club have confirmed the signing of 21-year-old defender, breaking their club record fee.

RB Salzburg have paid 12 million euros for Wober, which is the highest transfer fee the Austrian champions have ever paid. This transfer is even more interesting, knowing that Sevilla have signed Wober just last January for 10.5 million euros. The Austrian played just eight times for Sevilla since joining and he is already returning to his homeland.

Wober signed a five-year deal with the club that is still trying to reach the Champions League group stages for the first time since Red Bull bought the club. He is Austria international and has also previously played for Ajax and Rapid Wien.
