Competition: Championship playoff
Market: Reading to win against Huddersfield
Odds: 12/5 @ Bet 365

Huddersfield and Reading lock horns at Wembley in the Championship playoff final on Monday afternoon, and the Royals may be the ones to book their place in the Premier League for next season given their stronger finish to the season than Huddersfield.

Formbook can often go out of the window for one-off finals, but Reading have been more decisive in the playoffs while the Terriers have tensed up. Huddersfield have scored just one goal in their last four games, shipping six for their troubles. Reading have scored seven in their previous four and may capitalise on a leaky defence.

David Wagner’s Huddersfield side finished fifth in the Championship table but ended the season with three defeats from their last four games, winning only one in five. Only one side in the top-nine has lost more games than the Terriers this season and their playoff form won’t fill many full of confidence – drawing both outings.

Jaap Stam’s Reading side have been in much better shape in the lead-up to the final, winning three and drawing one of their last four games. The Royals have lost just one in their previous seven outings and did beat Hudderfield in the league this season – albeit losing the reverse fixture months later. Nevertheless, Bet 365 are giving odds of 12/5 for Reading to win against Huddersfield in 90 minutes.
