Real Madrid are interested in signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer, according to the Mirror.
Newly reappointed Real manager Zinedine Zidane is apparently a big fan of the English winger and is keen to see him join his team at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Back in 2015, he openly said Real were monitoring Sterling as they were monitoring all young players of such quality.
Now, however, Sterling is 24 years old and since his arrival from Liverpool that year for £49 million, he has become a key ingredient in Pep Guardiola’s team which won the Premier League title last season in a convincing manner. If Real are serious in their intention to bring him in, they will likely have to pay a huge fee even for their standards.
Sterling signed a new deal with City in November, one that’s set to keep him at the Etihad until 2023, and that puts his current club in a strong position when it comes to deciding his future.
