Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed a fee for the transfer of Eden Hazard, according to The Guardian.
The Belgian is set to become the third signing of the summer for the 13-time European champions, who have already secured the services of defender Eder Militao from Porto and striker Luka Jović from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Hazard had been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu for a very long time, but since Cristiano Ronaldo made his move from Madrid to Juventus there has hardly been a day without his name appearing in the press in connection with Real who have been struggling greatly to compensate for the loss of the Portuguese superstar.
Hazard didn’t really keep his wish to join the Spanish giants a secret, having hinted at a possible departure from Stamford Bridge on a number of occasions. He had informed the club of his decision a few weeks ago, and they were left with no choice – he was about to enter the last 12 months of his contract and had they defied his wish, they would have risked losing him for free next summer.
The fee that the two clubs have settled on is apparently in the region of €100 million, not counting potential add-ons.
