According to Marca, Portuguese star William Carvalho is on the verge of completing his move from Sporting CP to Real Betis. The deal, which is believed to be worth around €15 million, is awaiting the signature of the Sporting management commission before it can be deemed official. Given the nature of the transfer market and the inflation rates, Betis will likely be incredibly happy with the fee that has been reported.
Carvalho has been with Sporting since 2005, and in that time, he’s been able to firmly establish himself as one of the club’s most impactful players as a defensive midfielder. Carvalho has just returned from the World Cup in Russia where Portugal were unable to replicate their Euro 2016 heroics, being knocked out of the tournament at the Round of 16 stage by Uruguay.
Carvalho will be joining a Betis side who continue to harbour realistic aspirations of becoming one of the top teams in Spanish football.
