Real Betis close on Pau Lopez

Real Betis has emerged as favourites to sign Spanish goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Espanyol, according to Sport.

The highly rated shot-stopper will be out of contract in the summer and he has received a very good offer from los Verdiblancos.

Lopez expects Espanyol to improve their current proposal before he makes a decision on his future, while Real Sociedad, Girona and several Italian sides are also drafting their proposals.

The 23-year-old took over the number one spot at Espanyol from Kiko Casilla and he has so far made 57 La Liga appearances for the club.

The fact that there are so many top sides interested in his services is enough to suggest that Pau Lopez has performed really well over the last 18 months and ambitious Real Betis definitely seem like the main candidates for his signature.
