Real Betis have lost Junior Firpo to Barcelona, but they have found the replacement on the left-back. That is Alex Moreno, their latest signing, who arrives to Seville from Rayo Vallecano, the media in Spain have confirmed.
The 25-year-old defender will be expected to make a step up, following a relegation with Rayo. With Vallecano getting back to Segunda, it was always expected that Moreno would be going away and joining some other La Liga side. That happened with Betis, who snapped him up before others came into the battle. Onda Cero journalist Antonio Fuentes claims the transfer is worth €7.5m with €1m in add-ons, depending on his performances. Moreno has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2024.
Moreno will compete with Alfonso Pedraza, who will be expected to stay in the left-back position, even though he can play as a left winger too.
