According to reports this week injury prone Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be set for a shock move to Spanish side Real Betis. The Mirror reports that the Andalusian side will attempt to acquire Wilshere’s services in January, leapfrogging any clubs who were hoping to nab the England international for free when his contract runs out in the summer.
Betis reportedly inquired about the midfielder’s availability in the summer but were told that Wilshere wanted to stay and force his way back into the Arsenal team. However the playmaker has managed only 13 minutes in the Premier League this season and it doesn’t look like any significant game time is likely to come his way unless he can register some highly impressive substitute performances.
With that in mind a move to Spain would perhaps be the best move for the 25-year old’s career, especially with a World Cup coming up next summer. Wilshere is a highly technical and skilful player, which is exactly the reason why he would have an excellent chance of succeeding in Spain.
