Spanish daily newspaper ABC has learned that Real Betis have a deal in place to sign Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.
The 26-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with Santos expired in December and it appears he has finally found a new club.
ABC understands that Damiao has accepted a proposal from Real Betis and he will pen a deal until the end of the season with an option to extend his stay at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
The Brazilian will arrive in Seville later today to undergo a medical and sign a contract with the La Liga side.
Leandro Damiao has been widely regarded as one of Brazil’s top strikers in recent years, but despite seeing a number of top European clubs express interest in his services, a big club move would always evade him.
The player who has been bagging goals for fun in his native country has now been finally given an opportunity to prove his worth in Europe.
