Spanish giants Real Madrid are looking to hijack Barcelona’s bid for FC Porto full-back Danilo Luiz da Silva, according to Marca.
Los Blancos plan to recruit the Brazilian defender ahead of the 2015/2016 season and have already watched the 23-year-old in action on several occasions.
Real Madrid officials are aware it would probably take more than €20 million to lure the defender to Santiago Bernabeu, but money is obviously not a problem.
Danilo has a contract until June 2016 at Estadio do Dragao and while Porto chiefs hope to persuade him into extending his deal, the player appears determined to leave the Dragons for greener pastures.
Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona reportedly see the Brazilian as a perfect replacement for Dani Alves, but they are likely to miss out on his signature due to their transfer ban that will only be lifted in January 2016.
Danilo has become one of the most sought-after footballers in the market after largely impressing in 81 league outings for Porto.
