Real Madrid officials have elected Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva as a perfect replacement for Sami Khedira, Marca can reveal.
Los Blancos are preparing for life without the German footballer considering that his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, which could see the player leave as early as January.
However, Real Madrid already have a replacement ready having decided to make a move on Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of country’s hottest prospects, and he is widely tipped to earn his first senior cap.
Since coming through the youth ranks at Cruzeiro, Silva has made a total of 61 league appearances, scoring 3 goals in the process.
Having also impressed during club’s Copa Libertadores campaign last season, the midfielder has clearly done enough to catch the eye of Real Madrid scouts, and he is now expected to move to Santiago Bernabeu in the near future.
