According to a recent report from Sport, Real Madrid would need to pay around £70 million in compensation in order to go through with the sacking of Zinedine Zidane as the club’s manager. The Frenchman is said to be under a significant amount of pressure, and their recent Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain definitely didn’t help matters.
A lot of fans and pundits have voiced their opinion, with many believing that Cristiano Ronaldo was the key to the Spanish giants’ success during his first spell there as opposed to Zidane himself.
Either way, a few more bad results could lead to the board taking a serious look at the future of Zidane as the question marks continue to linger over him in his second reign in charge.
In terms of the money, it’s quite the gamble to take considering there are no clear candidates to replace him – unless they look in Mauricio Pochettino’s direction once again.
