Real defender in high demand

Spanish daily newspaper Marca has learned that Real Madrid full-back Nacho Fernandez has a long list of suitors among Europe’s top sides.

The 25-year-old is reportedly looking to leave los Blancos in search of first team football, although he has just another ten days before the transfer window closes.

According to Marca, Portuguese giants FC Porto lead the chase for his signature, while Arsenal, Sevilla and Bayer Leverkusen are keen as well.

The Dragons boss Julen Lopetegui is well aware of the player’s qualities having coached him in the Spain Under-21 team, and he now hopes to get reunited with the defender at Estadio do Dragao.

Nacho Fernandez, 25, has spent his entire career up to date at Santiago Bernabeu, making a total of 37 La Liga appearances.

The player, who can operate as a centre-back or left-back, is valued at €15 million, but despite impressing each time he was called upon, he does not appear to have future in Madrid.
