Real Madrid are apparently desperate to get Gareth Bale off their wage bill.
The Spanish giants have been trying to cash in on the Wales international for a long time now. His relationship with head coach Zinedine Zidane was never a straightforward business, neither during the Frenchman’s first spell in charge of the team, nor now in his second. According to AS, Bale feels he was mistreated by both Zidane and the club during the last summer’s transfer window when they backed out of an agreement to let him join Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning for free, and they’ve consequently been told that he plans to see his contract out no matter what. That would mean that the winger, who will turn 31 this July, will spend two years more at the Santiago Bernabeu, banking in a net sum of €14.5 million per year.
Nonetheless, Real will push hard to open a road leading away from Madrid for him this summer.
