Real Madrid have ended their interest in Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, according to Marca.
The 27-year-old has reportedly been a subject of long-term interest from the 13-time European champions, and ever since he said about a year ago that playing for Real Madrid would be ‘a dream’ for any player, he has been heavily linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Apparently head coach Zinedine Zidane was very keen on having his compatriot in his ranks. But it seems that in the current financial climate, Real are unwilling to meet Pogba’s wage demands, and despite being expected to make a fresh effort to bring him to the Spanish capital, they have now pulled out of the race for his signature.
It will certainly come as good news for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has already expressed his excitement at the prospect of having Pogba play alongside January signing Bruno Fernandes in his team.
