Real eyeing Alex Sandro; Luisao linked with MLS move

hot-transfer-newsReal eyeing Alex Sandro

Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that Real Madrid are hot on the trail of FC Porto full-back Alex Sandro.

Los Blancos have already secured the signature of Danilo Luiz da Silva and the latest reports suggest they may not recruit another Dragons player.

With Fabio Coentrao set to leave, Real Madrid need to sign a back-up for Marcelo and the club officials believe Alex Sandro is the right man for the job.

The highly rated footballer should be available on a cut-price deal considering that his current contract at Estadio do Dragao is due to expire in June 2016.

Sandro’s release clause may stand at €50 million, but it is perfectly clear he will be available for a lot less having failed to extend his deal.

The Brazilian, 24, made a total of 132 competitive appearances for FC Porto, scoring 3 goals and producing 12 assists in the process.

Luisao linked with MLS move

Portuguese daily newspaper Record has suggested that Benfica captain Luisao is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has spent last twelve years at Estadio da Luz, and it appears he is ready to quit the Eagles this summer.

Luisao believes that his fourth league trophy would be a perfect way to end a lengthy spell with the club before moving to MLS or Middle East.

And even though the veteran defender has another year left on his contract, it is believed that Benfica are prepared to let him leave on a free transfer this summer.

While this will also be a reward for everything the player achieved at Estadio da Luz, the Eagles will be happy to see the back of one of their highest earners.

Benfica will secure the second successive league trophy if they defeat Vitoria Guimaraes on the road, and they are 1/4 to succeed in their quest.

Villarreal keen on FC Porto goalkeeper

Spanish La Liga side Villarreal are considering a summer bid for FC Porto shot-stopper Andres Fernandez, according to Marca.

The Yellow Submarine are in the market for an experienced goalkeeper after Sergio Asenjo was ruled out for seven months through injury.

Marca has suggested that Villarreal are ready to try and lure Porto’s Andres Fernandez to El Madrigal in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old only joined the Dragons from Osasuna last summer, but he has since made just three competitive appearances and is now regarded as third-choice keeper.

Fernandez is, therefore, likely to be tempted by the opportunity to return to Spanish La Liga and enjoy regular playing time.

The 28-year-old had missed just two league matches in last three La Liga campaign while at Osasuna, but his spell with FC Porto did not exactly go as planned despite the fact that it was coach Julen Lopetegui who insisted on his arrival.
