Real eyeing Griezmann, Vela

Real Madrid are showing interest in Real Sociedad stars Antoine Griezmann and Carlos Vela, reports Sport.

Los Blancos have been impressed by the La Real duo and they will attempt to lure at least one of them to Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming transfer window.

And while reaching an agreement over the transfer fee with their league rivals will be no easy task, los Merengues do seem to have an ace up their sleeve.

Namely, Real Madrid officials plan to offer Real Sociedad a chance to resign midfielder Asier Illarramendi in order to get a discount on either Griezmann or Vela.

Los Blancos officials does not believe Illarramendi has managed to justify the €40 million price tag and they are prepared to use him as a makeweight in the deal.

Since joining the Spanish giants in the summer, the 24-year-old has made a total of 29 league appearances, starting 15 of those games and scoring 2 goals.
