Real Madrid could be about to make a shock bid for Queens Park Rangers’ goalkeeper Julio Cesar, that’s according to Mirror Football.
Jose Mourinho worked with the Brazilian when at Inter Milan and they had great success in Serie A and the Champions League.
Now, with Iker Casillas out for up to two months with a broken hand, The Special One could be after a new shot-stopper and Cesar appears to be top of his list.
What Mourinho wants is someone with experience at the highest level, which the QPR man certainly does have.
Real go up against Manchester United in the knockout stages of the Champions League next month and they know they have to be at their best to come out on top.
The 33-year-old was once regarded as the best keeper in the world and there is no doubt that he is still very good at what he does, but it would be a massive shock if he went from the bottom of the English Premier League to the La Liga champions.
QPR might be willing to listen to any offers though as they look to decrease their ever-growing wage bill. Cesar is believed to be one of the highest earners at the club.
