Real join chase for Strootman

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Real Madrid are considering a January move for AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

Los Blancos are short of options in the centre of the park after selling Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria, especially since Sami Khedira has picked up a serious injury.

And with Carlo Ancelotti not exactly relying too much on Asier Illarramendi, the Italian coach is determined to sign a new central midfielder next January.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid plan to challenge Manchester United for AS Roma star Kevin Strootman.

The Dutch midfielder, who is currently out through a knee injury, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers and even if the Giallorossi are doing their best to keep hold of their prized asset, sporting director Walter Sabatini admitted the club would not be able to resist a mega money offer.

After defeating Fiorentina in the opening match, Roma are priced at 8/13 to see off Empoli on the road.
