Spanish giants Real Madrid are weighing up summer bid for Monaco hotshot Geoffrey Kondogbia, French media outlet L’Equipe has learned.
Los Blancos had attempted to recruit the 22-year-old some two years ago, but he eventually ended up at Stade Louis II.
Following two successful seasons with Monaco, Kondogbia has been linked with Manchester City, Arsenal and Inter Milan, among other clubs, but L’Equipe claims that Real Madrid have rekindled their interest.
Los Blancos are on the lookout for a quality central midfielder considering that Sami Khedira has left the club while Asier Illarramendi and Lucas Silva could follow.
And with Kondogbia impressing while at Sevilla in his only La Liga campaign so far, chances are he would not need extra time to adapt to his new club should he move to Santiago Bernabeu.
The left-footed midfielder first shone at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey and he has since developed into one of Europe’s top holding midfielders.
