Real Madrid have joined the race for Everton highly rated youngster Jack Rodwell, according to Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho has asked his scouts to compile a report on the young midfielder as the Portuguese plans a summer assault on the Everton star.
Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on Rodwell since he impressed at the Under-21 European Championships in 2009 and they look ready to join the race for the 19-year-old.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also keen on the Everton midfielder, with Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly preparing a £15 million summer bid for Rodwell.
With Everton looking unable to keep hold of their most prized asset, the interested clubs could enter a real bidding war in the summer, although there are reports that Rodwell prefers a move to Old Trafford.
However, Everton chiefs are unlikely to get too emotional regarding the transfer and they will probably sell Rodwell to the highest bidder, which clearly gives advantage to Real and City.
