Real keen on Modric
Real Madrid are ready to launch an assault on Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric, according to Marca.
Los Blancos are hoping to sign another creative midfielder and they appear to have set their sights on the Croatian international.
Modric has long resisted the temptation to leave Spurs for greener pastures, but he now looks ready for a new step in his career.
The 26-year-old is disappointed by the fact that Tottenham will not be playing Champions League football next season and Marca claims he is open to a possibility of joining Real Madrid.
Spurs are aware this is the right time to cash in on their prized asset, after the player hugely impressed playing for Croatia at the European Championship.
Modric has spent last four seasons at White Hart Lane, scoring 13 goals in 127 Premier League appearances.
Quagliarella on Malaga radar
Italian daily Tuttosport claims Malaga are readying summer bid for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella.
The La Liga side are looking to reinforce the squad after qualifying for this year’s Champions League and they are now searching for a quality striker.
After Ruud van Nistelrooy decided to retire from football, coach Manuel Pellegrini was left with young Salomon Rondon as the only recognized striker in the squad.
As a result, they have shown interest in Juventus forward Fabio Quagliarella, who could decide to leave Turin in search of first team football.
The 29-year-old has not been placed on the transfer list, but his future at the club is very uncertain.
Not only has Sebastian Giovinco returned to the club, but the Bianconeri have also expressed interest in signing another world-class striker, meaning that Quagliarella’s days at Juventus Arena are numbered.
The experienced forward has scored 4 goals in 23 Serie A appearances last term, although he missed the start of the season through injury.
Fenerbahce close in on Lucio
Fenerbahce are on the verge of signing Brazilian defender Lucio from Inter, Sky Sport Italia understands.
The Neroazzurri are set for a major squad overhaul and the Brazilian international believes the time has come for him to leave Giuseppe Meazza.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Fenerbahce have shown great interest in signing the 34-year-old and they are expected to wrap up the deal before the end of the month.
The Turkish club officials are set to meet with the player’s representatives and they are ready to offer the player a lucrative two-year contract.
Lucio joined Inter in a €7 million deal from Bayern Munich in July 2009 and immediately became an important part of the back line at Giuseppe Meazza.
He is now set to leave the Neroazzurri after three seasons and 96 Serie A games, in which he scored three goals.
Lucio’s compatriot Juan Jesus, who signed for Inter in January, is seen as an obvious replacement for the veteran defender.
